I am going to be handling a lot of video next year and because my previous laptop was on the fritz, I decided I might as well upgrade. Specs on it: 2.3GHz Intel Quad-Core i7, 750GB SATA 5400 HD, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM (Upgraded to 8GB from Newegg), 17′ Glossy Widescreen, Upgraded to OSX Lion. I filmed this video before Lion had been released so that is why it didn’t ship with it.

I’d like to thank Mr. Campbell for allowing us to unbox his machine. He got this MBP because he originally bought a 27″ iMac with a i7 in it and he shipped back and forth an iMac which arrived DOA like 3 times, so he just said fuck it and Apple sent him the 17 i7 for free! His 64GB 3G iPad arrives next week!

Also thanks to Evan J Little from Computer Assistance Made Simple for helping me unbox this product.

These guys did something amazing! They took a multi touch display and installed it on a Mac Pro. The below article was written by them. Enjoy.

We created quite a buzz in the blogosphere with the movie on Youtube showing a Mac Pro running iPhone/iPod OS on a 24 inch multi-touch screen. Of course most people were convinced that it was fake, a spoof. And of course they where right.

We had initially planned to make a screen recording of the iPhone SDK but the animation was far too sloppy and the menu bar position got offset when applications closed down. So we decided to redo all the animations in Apple Shake with elements from the iPhone SDK screen recording. After some minor finishing touches in Photoshop, the movie was finally edited in Final Cut Pro.

As many have already seen, a Dell 24-screen in portrait mode with a covered logo was used in the experiment.

Stefan got a few minutes to practice the timing, before we started filming. Shooting was deliberately poor so that more people would believe that it was computer geeks only, and not film effects people. To increase the credibility even more, an error message was implemented as the home screen appears.

We’ve included all the materials used in the experiment below. Have fun!

When I bought the mac I thought I would come across a lot of programs that were available for Windows only. But you would be suprised! So many different and neat applications are available for Mac OS X that arent even available for Windows! It’s crazy! Anywho! Videos to follow!

Personally, I try to do all my videos in HD. But when I am just browsing through videos, I hardly ever click “Watch in HD”. But people seem to want to know how to do it. So here it is. This is in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. Enjoy and remember to rate comment and subscribe! All you have to do is simple. Just import your footage, place it in the timeline like you would any other time. Nothing you would ever do has changed except what you do when you go to render it. Once everything is in place and you are ready to render, select file, scroll down to export and instead of clicking ‘Movie’ like you normally would. Click ‘Adobe Media Encoder’. After this is done a windows will pop up asking what kind of file you want to render in. I prefer to render in HDTV 720p it is great quality. All of the other presets should be set except you need to make sure that where it says ‘Encoding Passes’ the option that is selected is two (2). That is important. Enjoy!

Earlier today SoldierKnowsBest released a video explaining that he was going to do a video intro contest, similar to what Jon4Lakers did a few years ago. His fans would make video intros and post them as responses to a video of his choosing, then he would announce the winner and they would recieve a 50$ iTunes giftcard. I really dont care about winning, I just wanted to make a cool intro. If I win, thats even better, but there is some good video intros I have seen so far so you never know. I pieced my intro together using simple effects in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro CS3. During the productions of this small and harmless slip I encountered two Blue Screens of Death (Windows user still, pfft) and a hard drive failure. So after going through all that hell, I hope you like the video!
